IMCS Open House – “Feel at home,” said Prof. Kao.

Prof Kao An-Pang, Dean of the College of Social Sciences at the National Chengchi University, speaking at the Open House for IMCS applicants said that two internationally well-known professors from abroad will give lectures in our school from the next academic year. The Open House was attended by many applicants who had enthusiasm for the program.

Prof. Kao, highlighting the program’s main features, mentioned that the program would be fully taught in English. This program, he felt, would help in raising the English capability of the students and enhance their future prospects both in the West and in the East. Apart from acquiring knowledge on China, it is important to be able to communicate the knowledge acquired in English language. The certificate of degree will specifically emphasize the medium of education, thus enhancing the value of the certificate.

There were a number of aspirants with quite a few questions. Prof. Kao answered them patiently and clearly. He allayed the fears of some students by saying that neither the English Composition exam nor the Personal Interview would be too difficult. The purpose of the test and interview was not to make the life of the student miserable, he said, on the contrary it was meant to test the basic aptitude of the applicant and understand the personality of the students. Obviously, the course is designed in such a way that students from all the backgrounds will find it useful and informative. The course is designed in manner that it begins from the basics and then takes the students to newer heights of knowledge. While suggesting students how to apply for the program, he emphasized that the applicants should give all the information required. He suggested that the applicants emphasize their past academic and non-academic performances.
