Q How long does it take to finish the program?
A The MTS is designed to be a two-year program; however, students have up to four years to finish it.
Q What are the course hours?
A Classes will be in the evenings, usually from 6pm to 9pm or from 7pm to 10pm.
Q How many credits can be transferred from other institutions?
A Up to 9 credits previously earned may be transferred when ALL of the following requirements met: (1) the courses taken were graduate level courses offered within the past 5 years, (2) the medium of instruction was English, (3) earned grade B or above, and (4) approved by the MTS committee.
Q What are expected in the study plan?
A A study plan usually contains the following information: the reason you are pursuing the Master of Taiwan Studies, your background or preparation that is relevant to your objective, the particular field of study/research you are interested in, and other information that helps the committee to evaluate your academic potential.
Q Can I apply for Spring semester?
A Application for admission is open once every year in January or February for enrollment of Fall semester only. Please check the MTS website for the precise deadline of application, which might vary from year to year.
Q Can I take classes as a non-degree student? If yes, what are the procedures?
A Yes, non-degree status is available for application. The deadline and procedures of application are the same as those for regular students. Please note that non-degree status can only last for one year and cannot be reapplied. Also, non-degree status cannot be used for visa application.
